About Red Ant Publishing
Red Ant was founded in 2008 with the goal of publishing and marketing new authors’ and illustrators’ creative works. Our vision was to form a company that would be a safe space for fledgling artists to share their creativity and get some feedback, encouragement, and guidance on what the next step may be for their projects.
Our culture is one of mutual respect, shared responsibility and shared benefit. Every person that contributes is a valued member of our team from our authors and illustrators to our website designers and printing companies. We will treat each person and organization fairly and with respect.
We believe in community and compassion for others’ experiences. In any community, there are individuals who struggle, whether it be the result of an illness, condition, disability, or environment. One of our objectives is to assist those organizations that provide resources and services to those struggling individuals and their families.
Accordingly, Red Ant has devised a business model that allows us to give more back to the community. Instead of marketing our books through wholesalers or distributors that require a 50- 55% discount of the list price, we partner with organizations that contribute to their local communities and donate a portion of the proceeds back.
Our current focus is on children’s books with an emphasis on developing positive life skills and self confidence. We believe in challenging young readers by publishing stories with more complex sentence structures and vocabulary. Expect our children’s books to be colorful and entertaining with a few four syllable words thrown in!
And if you are curious as to why we are named Red Ant Publishing --- Ants function in a community, can carry 20 times their weight, have the largest brains among the insects, scout ants find food (or in our case…information and processes) and lead other to it. And both founders have red hair and are…aunts!
Please enjoy our books as much as we enjoy publishing them!
